A dynamic Agro-fishery and Eco- tourism Center of Central Panay where leaders, and its people are God-Loving, happy, healthy, self-reliant, disciplined and living in an ecologically balanced, and sustainable community.

 

MISSION

To establish a local government structure that:

  • Develops and promotes a sustainable agro-fishery industry through breeding, culture and processing.
  • Explores and enhances the richness of the natural marine and inland resources
  • Showcases through integrated tourism program, the cultural and historical heritage of our town.
  • Motivates, supports and encourages entrepreneurial and leadership qualities of people.
  • Internalizes in people their oneness with the environment and stewardship of God’s creations.

 

GOALS, OBJECTIVES, STRATEGIES:

  • To develop and maintain sustainable Agro-fishery – Tourism Programs, projects and activities.
  • To promote programs for the preservation, conservation and management of the environment.
  • To alleviate the living condition of the less privilege sector of community.
  • To provide infrastructure projects which support the municipality’s economic and environmental programs toward global competitiveness.
  • To develop Batan a transshipment center of commerce and industry
  • Increase local revenue collection to achieve its annual target.
  • To provide quality and competitive education through the K-12 program.
  • To be a God-loving, law abiding and peaceful municipality
  • To engage in research for product development and livelihood generation
  • To maximize land utilization by inter-cropping to increase income of farmers
  • To provide social services to poor families like 4P’s program and low cost housing.
  • Program beneficial to all sectors like 4P’s to the poor, encourage invention and government assistance to patent local invention and product development to generate income for the government and livelihood to the people.
  • To deal with efficient use, acquisition, disposition and management of land resources by rationalization of various land uses by delineation of certain areas where activities are permitted or not to guide all stakeholders.
  • Regulation as an instrument, place land uses to its limit. The government aims to exercise its power of taxation, police power and power of imminent domain.
